Unique Senior Care was opened by Philip Wright-Howarth and Philip Maundrill following their own personal experiences of organising care for family members who were living with Dementia and had a Learning Disability. Their aim was learn from their experiences and provide a homecare service that ensured the organisation put ‘people above all else’ and consistently focused on delivery of elderly care to the very highest quality service
Our aim is to enable our clients (and their families) to live their lives better and easier, whether that be by helping with their early morning routine, preparing a meal, assisting with medication – or providing some companionship or support to allow you to attend a social event or pursue your interests.
Call our expert team on 0160 831 0032 and find out how we can help you and your family.
What makes us different?
We don’t believe that quality care can be delivered in 15 or 30 minute slots – so our minimum call length is 1 hour.
We will never send a stranger – where possible, we will send the same person.
We will arrive when you expect us – and on time.
All of our front-line staff are tested weekly for COVID-19 using the gold standard PRC test.
Our reputation is very important to us, so, understandably our standards are un-compromising.
Our staff do not wear uniforms – we want them to look like a friend or family member when they are out and about with our clients.
All of our services are designed to allow you to remain living in the comfort of your own home.

Live-in and 24 hour Care
If you or your loved one require more care and support than an hourly service would cover, a Live-in or 24 hour solution may well be an alternative option to a residential or nursing home.
We are very experienced in providing a fully managed live-in care service which is able to provide 24 hour around the clock care for you or your loved one. This enables you to remain living at home, surrounded by everything that is important to you.
Utilising our highly experienced, directly employed carers, they will get to know your routine preferences, and then focus fully on your unique needs, and enable you to remain independent, in the knowledge that care and support is available when you require it
We take responsibility for all the day to day carer employment issues around pay, holidays, unexpected absence etc, so you will not have to worry about a thing!
Live-in care can also be a very cost-effective alternative to having to leave the comfort of your own home to move into a residential care or nursing home – particularly if a couple both require support.
Whatever care help and support you think you require, give us a call, we’re here to help. Call us on 0160 867 0366
Homecare Visits in and around Shipston on Stour
Our home help service can be on hand to address the early signs of your loved one requiring some care or support – in some instances they may not feel ready, or be reluctant to consider care, so some help around the house can help and assist with forming an all-important relationship with our carers.
So, if some hoovering, cleaning or shopping will help, we can provide a friendly carer to keep the home looking lovely.
We all know how loneliness and self-isolation can impact on our health and well-being.
Companionship has always been at the heart of our service and underpins our ‘people above all else’ ethos. A single or numerous visits per week can provide an all-important opportunity to enjoy social interaction and companionship that can make a huge difference to your loved ones well-being.
Whether it be to pursue an interest or hobby, or attend an appointment or family event or occasion, we can assist and you can relax knowing your loved one is safe.
Everyday tasks such as getting up in the morning, washing, and remembering to take medication cam all be challenging for the elderly, or those with specific conditions – and we are able to help provide support whenever this is required.
Personal care is just that: it’s private and personal, and you can trust us to ensure your loved one is treated with dignity and compassion with a support plan that is tailored to their needs.
We know that our clients aim is to remain in their own home and where possible to live safe, independent fulfilling lives.
A diagnosis of dementia can be life changing and devastating and to a family and life altering to their loved ones. Managing and understanding their behavioural and demeanour changes can be distressing and very worrying.
Our hourly and live-in carers receive extensive dementia training to equip them with the skills to manage the needs of our clients who are living with dementia. Our team will support you and work with our clients GP, District Nurse and wider health system to ensure any changes are discussed and considered so that when necessary the support plan can be amended as required.
Being an informal carer brings many challenges and responsibilities – and we understand fully how difficult this can be. Through our Respite service you can get much needed support to enable you to have a break form the everyday demands of looking after your loved one.
Whether it be an hour or few hours break a day, or overnight support, our hourly or live-in carers can provide a break for a week or two.
Palliative/end of life care
End of life or palliative care can provide the specialist care and support at the time you require it most. We are very experienced at providing the compassionate, sensitive and emotional support you may need during this very distressing time.
We provide our carers with specialist end of life training that is kind and patient. They can provide one-to-one care and liaise with other specialist nursing teams to ensure your loved one receives all the appropriate support they need.
Our aim is to enable you to spend time with your loved one whilst we ensure the appropriate level of homecare.
We have an extensive knowledge and experience of providing individual domiciliary and 24 hour live-in care services for people living with complex conditions ie Learning Disabilities, Autism, Parkinson’s, Dementia, MS or who have suffered a Stroke.
These specialist needs may not mean that you or your loved one cannot remain living in the comfort of your own home. Our experienced carers can provide all the specialist care and support to avoid the need to move into a residential or nursing home.
