Companionship is a side of care which can often be overlooked in the hustle and bustle of modern life. People often associate at-home care with physical help – such as day-to-day tasks, showering or dressing – but the truth is that many of our clients are simply looking for company and friendship.

Older people are especially vulnerable to loneliness. Research conducted by Age UK suggests that 3.6 million older people in the UK live alone, and more than a million older people say they go for more than a month without speaking to anyone. Loneliness and social isolation can have a serious effect on health, which is why we offer a Companionship care service.

We are proud to offer Companionship as one of our core services – it perfectly matches our ethos of ‘People, above all else’, helping elderly people live fulfilling lives at home. Our bespoke care plan development carefully matches clients with their Caregivers to ensure that they have common interests and that their character traits are well matched. Our Caregivers are there to have lunch with, play a board game with, or even simply have a chat with – be it about the weather, books, or reminiscing about the past.

Our care services start at a minimum of one hour. We believe that it is impossible to deliver a high-quality care service in a time slot shorter than this. Our Caregivers therefore have the chance to develop meaningful relationships with their clients, free from the pressure of having to move on.
