Our Editorial Values
Our approach to content is guided by a detailed set of values that reflect our responsibilities to families and Caregivers:
Clarity and plain English
We use short sentences and everyday language so information is easy to follow.
Accuracy and evidence
Every article is fact-checked and reviewed against reputable sources such as the NHS, CQC, NICE, Age UK, and the Alzheimer’s Society.
Respect and dignity
We write with sensitivity for older adults and their families, avoiding stereotypes and ensuring dignity.
Transparency
We explain how our content is created, who has reviewed it, and we do not publish paid or promotional content.
Practicality and lived experience
Guidance is rooted in real care situations, shaped by Care Managers, senior leaders, and Caregivers.
Safety and safeguarding
Content aligns with good practice and avoids potentially harmful claims.
Privacy and consent
Client stories are only shared with permission or anonymised appropriately.
Accessibility
We structure content clearly with helpful headings and ensure materials can be read by all.
Balance
Content is designed to support decision-making, not replace medical or legal advice.
Corrections and updates
We welcome feedback and act quickly to correct errors or add new information.
These values shape the way we write, review, and update everything we publish.

Who Creates Our Content
Our content is created by people who work closely with older adults and their families every day. Blogs and guides are drafted by our Content Manager and shaped with the insight of Care Managers, senior leaders, and other specialists across our team. This ensures that everything we publish reflects real lived experience in care, not just generic advice.
Each article carries a by-line that highlights the person whose expertise has guided the piece. For example, service delivery content may be by-lined by our Operations Director, while dementia guidance may be by-lined by a Care Manager with specialist training. This openness helps you understand the background of the people sharing their knowledge.

Our Review Process
Every piece of content goes through a multi-step review before it is published. Drafts are prepared by the Content Manager and then reviewed by the most relevant professional in our team. This may include a dementia-trained Care Manager, a Learning and Development lead, or a senior leader such as the Operations Director.
After internal review, the content is checked for alignment with trusted external sources. We reference and verify our information against guidance from well-established organisations, including the NHS, Age UK, Alzheimer’s Society, and Care Quality Commission. This ensures that our advice is consistent with national standards and current best practice.
Keeping Content Up to Date
We regularly review our content to make sure it remains accurate and reflects the latest guidance and best practice in care. All material is checked to reflect updated care standards or as advice changes.
Articles on our website include a published date so you can see when they were last updated. This helps provide context and shows our commitment to transparency in sharing up-to-date information.

Reader Feedback
We welcome feedback from families, Caregivers, and professionals. If you ever notice something that feels unclear or out of date, please let us know. You can get in touch easily through our contact form or by emailing [email protected]. We review all feedback carefully and make updates where needed so that our information remains accurate and useful.
Transparency
We are committed to being open about the sources we use and the way we share information. Wherever we include links, they are to respected and reputable organisations in health and social care, such as the NHS, Age UK, the Alzheimer’s Society, and other well-established bodies.
We never accept payment for content or promote products for profit. Our focus is on providing families with clear, reliable information that supports their decisions about care.

Disclaimer: The information we share is for general guidance and education. It is not intended to replace professional medical advice, diagnosis, treatment, or legal guidance. Families should always seek personalised advice from qualified professionals when making important decisions about health or care.
