Every review tells a story. It might be about a Carer who helped someone feel like themselves again, or a family who finally got a full night’s sleep after weeks of worry. Sometimes it’s simply a thank you for being there when someone needed it most.
This year, those stories have led to something we’re incredibly proud of. Unique Senior Care has received two homecare.co.uk Top 20 Awards for 2026.
Our Solihull branch, which is also home to our live-in care service, has been recognised as a Top 20 Home Care Provider in the West Midlands. Unique Senior Care has also been recognised nationally as one of the Top 20 Small Home Care Groups. What’s even more special is that this is the sixth consecutive year we’ve received national recognition from homecare.co.uk.
What are the homecare.co.uk Top 20 Awards and how are they decided?
Each year, homecare.co.uk recognises the highest-rated home care providers across the UK through its Top 20 Awards. Providers don’t nominate themselves or submit an application. Instead, every home care provider listed on homecare.co.uk is automatically considered, and the awards are based on verified reviews left by clients, their families and friends.
Because those reviews come directly from the people receiving care and those closest to them, they offer an honest picture of what everyday care really feels like.
Each regional award recognises just 20 home care providers while, likewise, only 20 home care groups receive national recognition each year. Being among those recognised is something we’re incredibly proud of, but what’s most important to us is knowing that the people who experience our care every day felt it was worth sharing.
The two homecare.co.uk Top 20 Awards we’re celebrating
Our Solihull branch has been recognised as a Top 20 Home Care Provider in the West Midlands for 2026. This award reflects the steady, thoughtful care our local team provides every day. It speaks to the familiar faces at the door, the routines remembered, the small changes noticed and the support given in a way that feels personal rather than rushed.
It also includes our live-in care service, which is registered under our Solihull branch. That means this recognition reflects both the visits we make each day and the round-the-clock support we provide for people who need a little more help to stay safely at home.
For families across Solihull and the surrounding areas, the award is a reassuring sign that they’re choosing a provider trusted by the people who know it best. For our team, it’s a nod to the fantastic and thoughtful care they give every day, when nobody is there to applaud them.
Alongside our West Midlands award, Unique Senior Care has also been recognised in the homecare.co.uk Top 20 Small Home Care Groups 2026.
Wherever a family meets Unique Senior Care, we hope the experience feels the same. Warm, personal and centred around the individual. Whether someone is receiving a few hours of support each week or around-the-clock live-in care, every family deserves to feel listened to, understood and supported in a way that works for them.
It also marks the sixth consecutive year we’ve received this recognition, which means a lot to us, because it suggests families continue to experience the same level of care, year after year.
The reviews behind these awards
These awards didn’t happen because of one exceptional day. They happened because of hundreds of small moments, repeated over months and years.
When someone leaves a five-star review, it’s rarely about one visit in isolation. It’s usually about how they felt over time.
Families often share the details that stayed with them. A Care Professional who took the time to sit and chat, not just complete a task. Someone who noticed when Mum seemed a little quieter than usual and gently checked in. A familiar face arriving each day, already knowing the routine, the preferences and the little things that help someone feel comfortable.
There are moments of laughter too. Ordinary afternoons that feel lighter because someone is there to share them. A cup of tea that turns into a conversation. A story retold and enjoyed all over again.
For many families, it’s about confidence. The confidence to keep a loved one at home, surrounded by everything that feels familiar. The comfort of knowing someone is there who sees the person, not just the care plan.
One family recently shared:
“…The transition from hospital to home was a worrying time for our family, but the carers quickly put our minds at ease with their kindness, professionalism and genuine compassion. Every member of the team treated my father with utter dignity and respect. Their reliability, patience and attention to detail made a tremendous difference to his recovery and overall wellbeing…”
Those are the moments behind the five stars. If you want to hear more from our clients and their experiences with our care, you can hear lots of real stories on our YouTube channel.
The people behind these awards
There are so many people behind these awards, and we’d like to take a moment to say thank you.
To our clients, thank you for welcoming us into your homes and your lives. It’s a privilege we never take lightly. To your families, thank you for trusting us during times that can feel uncertain or overwhelming. Thank you, too, for taking the time to share your experiences. Your reviews help other families feel a little less alone when they’re trying to make difficult decisions about care.
To our Carers, thank you for the patience, humour, kindness and professionalism you bring to every visit. People remember how you make them feel, and that’s what shines through in so many of the reviews we receive.
And to our office teams, thank you for everything that happens behind the scenes. The planning, the phone calls, the problem-solving and the support you give every day make a real difference to both our clients and our Carers.
These awards belong to all of you.
Tomorrow, we’ll do what we’ve always done: care
Awards are wonderful, but tomorrow will look much like today. There will be visits to make, familiar faces at the door and little routines that bring comfort to so many people. Families will still need reassurance. Someone will still need a little extra help getting ready for the day. A Carer will still notice that something feels slightly different and take the time to check in.
That’s what these awards really reflect. Not one big moment, but hundreds of small ones, repeated day after day with compassion, skill and genuine care.
If you’re starting to think about home care or live-in care for someone close to you, we’re always here for a conversation. No pressure, just honest advice and a chance to talk things through.
