What Makes a Unique Caregiver?

Three colleagues at Briar Croft stand with their arms around one another.

Here at Unique Senior Care, our Caregivers are a fantastic team of people, with a wide range of skills and backgrounds. It takes Unique qualities to become a Unique colleague. Read on to find out more.

Our clients have a range of needs, from complex care to companionship. Being able to understand client needs and go above and beyond, are key qualities of our Caregivers.  All of our Caregivers have also passed our ‘Mum Test’ which is where we ask ourselves if we would allow them to look after our own loved ones.

“In 10 years, I have never witnessed such empathy and genuine care.” – Paramedic, Kenilworth

As we get older some activities can become more and more difficult for older people. Certain tasks which were once simpler, can become more challenging. By understanding these changes and how they can impact daily life and make people feel, our Caregivers are able to adapt to best support their clients. Encouraging clients to take their time and navigate life at their own pace, is an important part of the working relationship.

All of our Caregivers at Unique Senior Care have undertaken an award-winning training programme with industry experts. This ensures that their knowledge and understanding is of a high standard. Ongoing training from a fantastic in-house learning and development team, also means that Caregivers are supported to develop their knowledge and skills throughout their career with Unique Senior Care.

Respect and compassion

We directly employ our Caregivers and consistency is one of our key drivers when interacting with our clients. Building strong relationships is a vital part of what we offer. We make sure that our clients are supported by Caregivers that they are familiar and comfortable with – we call this “continuity of care”. As our staff do not wear uniforms, it could be a family member or friend visiting.

At Unique Senior Care, we recruit only the best. Our Caregivers share our values of respect, dignity and compassion. In 2020 we were awarded a 5 Star Employer Award by a leading employee engagement consultancy and we are always looking for fantastic new people to join our wonderful teams.
