We’re so pleased to share that Unique Senior Care has been shortlisted for Excellence in Homecare at the LaingBuisson Awards 2026.
This is the second year running that we’ve reached the final in this category, which makes the news feel even more special. We were incredibly proud to be shortlisted in 2025, and to receive the same recognition again means so much to team!
Most importantly, it gives us another opportunity to recognise the people behind our care. From the Caregivers supporting Clients in their own homes to the teams working behind the scenes, this has only been possible because of the care, hard work and commitment they show every day.
About the LaingBuisson Awards
The LaingBuisson Awards have recognised achievements across independent health and social care for 21 years. They celebrate the organisations and people working to improve care, as well as those supporting the sector behind the scenes.
Entries are assessed independently and objectively, with categories covering different areas of healthcare and social care. More than 700 submissions were made for the 2026 awards, which makes being named among the finalists feel all the more special.
Each year, the awards bring people from across the sector together to recognise good work, share achievements and celebrate the teams making a difference every day.
What the Excellence in Homecare category recognises
The Excellence in Homecare category recognises organisations providing personal care or healthcare in people’s own homes. It looks particularly at innovation and how providers support people with more complex care needs.
That’s what makes this category so meaningful to us. Good home care isn’t simply about completing a set of tasks. It’s about getting to know the person, understanding what matters to them and helping them continue living in their own home, in the way they choose.
Getting that right takes a whole team. Caregivers build those important day-to-day relationships with Clients and families, while the wider team makes sure they have the training, guidance and support they need. Everyone has a part to play in keeping care personal, consistent and able to adapt as someone’s needs change.
What being shortlisted for a second year means to us
Being named a finalist once was a lovely achievement. To be shortlisted for Excellence in Homecare again feels like a real recognition of the standards our teams work hard to maintain.
Care never stands still. A Client’s needs can change, a family may need more reassurance and a Caregiver may need guidance or support with a new situation. Maintaining good care means continuing to listen, learn and improve, while holding on to the things that matter most: familiar Caregivers, strong relationships and care that is built around the person.
We know an award shortlist can’t tell a family everything about a care provider. What happens in someone’s home will always matter more. However, independent recognition like this gives us a chance to step back and feel proud of how much our teams put into getting care right.

A big thank you to everyone involved
To our Caregivers, thank you for the care, patience and professionalism you bring to your work. You build trusted relationships with Clients and families, notice when something has changed and help people continue living life in the way that feels right for them.
To our wider teams, thank you for everything you do to support that care. There is a huge amount of work that families may never see, from matching Caregivers and planning rotas to delivering training, reviewing care and being there when somebody needs help.
And to our Clients and their families, thank you for placing your trust in us. We know how personal it is to welcome a Caregiver into your home or ask someone to support a person you love. It is a responsibility we never take lightly.
This shortlisting belongs to all of you, and we hope you feel as proud of it as we do.
What happens next at the LaingBuisson Awards 2026
The winners will be announced at the LaingBuisson Awards ceremony on Thursday 19 November 2026 at Park Plaza Westminster Bridge in London.
We’ll be keeping everything crossed until then. Whatever the result, being shortlisted for Excellence in Homecare for a second year is something we’re very proud to celebrate.
