Kara Cave, Registered Manager at Unique Senior Care
Leading a local team committed to safe, compassionate, and person-centred home care.
With more than 10 years of experience in health and social care, Kara Cave is the Registered Manager for Unique Senior Care's Solihull home care service. She is responsible for overseeing the safe delivery of care, supporting local Caregivers, and ensuring the service meets the high standards expected by families, Clients, and the Care Quality Commission (CQC). As a Registered Manager, she is responsible for ensuring the service complies with the requirements placed on registered managers under the Health and Social Care Act 2008.
Kara began her career as a Caregiver and has worked across both domiciliary care and residential care services. During her time in a care home, she was promoted to Senior Caregiver, a position she held for five years before joining Unique Senior Care as a Field Care Supervisor. Less than a year later, she was promoted to Registered Manager, reflecting her commitment to delivering high-quality care and supporting both Clients and colleagues.
Alongside leading the service, Kara is currently working towards the Level 5 leadership standard for Registered Managers and holds a Level 3 Diploma in Safeguarding. She also volunteers as a Community First Responder, attending 999 emergency calls and supporting the ambulance service. This experience has strengthened her ability to remain calm, make informed decisions, and support people during difficult situations.
Dementia care is a particular area of interest for Kara, having spent more than five years supporting people living with dementia across a range of care settings. She is passionate about helping people remain safe, independent, and comfortable in their own homes while delivering person-centred dementia care that gives families confidence in the support their loved one receives.
In 2025, Kara was recognised as one of the Thirty Under 30 award winners, celebrating the positive contribution she has made to Unique Senior Care and the wider care sector.

How Kara supports colleagues and clients
Kara believes that good home care starts with understanding the individual. She works closely with Clients, families, and Caregivers to make sure every care package is safe, well planned, and tailored to each person's needs, preferences, and routines. Her approach is centred on building trusting relationships and delivering compassionate, person-centred care.
As Registered Manager, Kara oversees the day-to-day delivery of care across our Solihull service. She supports Caregivers, works alongside Care Coordinators and office teams, and helps ensure every Client receives consistent, high-quality support that adapts as their needs change. Having progressed through several care roles herself, she understands the challenges Caregivers face and is passionate about helping them develop and succeed.
Maintaining quality is at the heart of Kara's role. She carries out regular care reviews, audits, and quality checks to ensure the service continues to meet the standards expected of CQC-regulated providers. She also works closely with GPs, district nurses, local authorities, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care and achieve the best possible outcomes for Clients.
Alongside her role at Unique Senior Care, Kara volunteers as a Community First Responder, supporting the ambulance service during medical emergencies. That experience has strengthened her ability to stay calm under pressure and reinforces her commitment to keeping people safe, both in the community and at home.
In Kara's words..
My approach to leading a care team
"I've always believed that you should never ask someone to do something you wouldn't be prepared to do yourself. Having started my career as a Caregiver, I understand the challenges the role can bring and how important it is to feel supported.
My role is to be there for both our Clients and our Caregivers, whether that's helping someone through a difficult day or celebrating the successes that make this job so rewarding.
When people feel valued and supported, they're able to provide the kind of care every family deserves."
How I got into my role
"I started my career in care because I wanted a job where I could make a genuine difference to people's lives. What I didn't expect was just how much I would learn from the people I was supporting every day.
I've always pushed myself to keep learning and take on new opportunities, which has taken me from Caregiver to Registered Manager in just a few years.
I'm incredibly proud of that journey, and I'm excited to keep developing while supporting our team to provide outstanding care."
